SELLING OF HIGH PRESSURE DIE-CASTING DIES

MATRIX ENGINEERING have been designer and manufacturer of high pressure die-casting dies since 1969. The careful technical training along with the considerable experience can guarantee good casting quality, high production rates and long life at the die-casting dies.

For the manufacturing of new tools MATRIX ENGINEERING work in partnership with 7 associate high quality toolmaker that have been working with us since 1969 with the full responsability of MATRIX ENGINEERING.

We aim to supply our customers with high quality products and with a complete service by following the whole production process: from the optimization of the components, design and manufacturing of die-casting dies and trimming tools, till the production and finishing of the castings with a constantly support services.




SERVICE
DESCRIPTION OF MATRIX ACTIVITY


A) Analysis of the component/part to be produced with high pressure diecasting
B) Study of the best position for the ingate.
C) General arrangement (Lay out)
D) 3D of the cavities
E) 2D details drawing for all the items to be manufactured.
F) Calculation of running gate and ingate according to SDCE specification (U.S.A.).
G) Metal flow controlled by software: procast foundry simulation.
H) Selection of the cavity steel from the most important European steelworks (Uddeholm, Bohler, Albert Douval, King & Co., Tyssen).
I) Manufacturing of die-casting dies and trimming tools.
J) Heat treatment for cavity steel: salt hardening or Vacuum hardening with relative certificate.
K) From two to four mm of machining allowances in the cavities before heat treatment.
L) Heat treatment for cavity steel: salt hardening or Vacuum hardening with relative certificate.
  - a. Finishing of the cavity after heat treatment.
  - b. Stress relieving of the cavities after heat treatment.
M) Nitriding for movement parts.
N) Cooling lines to guarantee the shortest cycle of pressing.
O) Our tools are carried out so as to facilitate the interchangeability of cores and critical inserts during tools’ life.
P) Technical support for the production start at your foundry.


DIE-CASTING DIE TESTING

Matrix have their own die casting plant to test the dies and to produce the batches requested.

Matrix produce with the following pressure die-casting machines:
- 250 tonnes BUHLER
- 400 tonnes BUHLER
- 1200 tonnes TRIULZI
- Blast-furnace for 450 kg., 850 kg. and 1200 kg. capacity to produce castings from 10 gr. To 9 kg.
- Trim tool press T.C.S. 20 tonnes


QUALITY

Matrix Engineering is an ISO accredited to ISO 9001:2008

The dimensional inspection report is carried out by the following machines:
- Mitutoyo BHN 305 – checking range: 350x350x400
- Poli TU – checking range: 600x800x500
- Software for Mitutoyo: Geopack, Scanpak, Statpak
- Software for Poli: Geosoft 1


SOFTWARE
For the technical support.


Technical department develop the project with the following softwares:
- CATIA V5, PRO-ENGINEER 2001 WILDFIRE - POWERSHAPE (DELCAM) – MECHANICAL DESKTOP 2004 – INVENTOR R6 – AUTOCAD 2004
- Data transmission: FTP – DAXWARE (transmission of encrypted data)
